Mountain Lion Killed By Property Owner In Santa Monica Mountains

P-56 is the first radio-collared mountain lion to be killed under the state's "depredation" law in the Santa Monica Mountains. State law allows a property owner to apply for a "depredation" permit from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife to kill an animal if it harms pets or livestock.
