Gavin Newsom signed 31 bills aimed at easing California’s affordable housing crisis. One that didn’t reach his desk could have been a game-changer. Assemblymember Laura Friedman (the lead author of AB 1401) successfully shepherded her parking reform bill through the Assembly on a bipartisan 51-17 vote.
