While about 85 percent of the film takes place in a jail cell, according to Lewis, many outdoor shots were filmed in Central Florida, including a driving scene in Port Canaveral, a Santa Monica Pier-esque scene that actually takes place at the Malcolm E. McLouth Fishing Pier in Cape Canaveral and a hot tub scene filmed at a Cocoa Beach resort.
