Young boy recovering from rare mountain lion attack

In August 2021, a 5-year-old boy was attacked by a young mountain lion near his home in the Santa Monica Mountains. The cougar was killed, and the boy reportedly recovered. That marked the first human-lion incident in the area in more than 25 years, according to the Mountain Lion Foundation.
